New Years Eve

Fri Dec 31, 2004, 2:59 PM
Well, I'm all alone for New Years. All my friends are gone, and I have no family close by. Not fun at all. Oh well, a couple more days and my friends will start coming back from the hollidays (thank God).

I've watched some super good movies in the past few days: City of God- a foreign film in the Portugese language with English subtitles, set in Rio de Junaro (in Brazil), and probably one of the best movies I've ever seen; Primal Fear- a lawyer/courtroom movie, but very good with suprising twists and turns, and excellent acting, with Richard Gere, Laura Linney, and Edward Norton (he won an Oscar for his role); Jackie Brown- the third film by Quintin Tarantino (writer/director of Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction), a crime/caper/drama, but is also funny, with intriguing dialogue and acting, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Pam Grier, Robert Forster (I loved this actor in this movie), Bridget Fonda, and Robert De Niro; and Chariots of Fire (1981), a film about British runners competing in the 1924 Olympic Games, starring Ian Holm (he got an Oscar nomination for this role), Ian Charlston, and Ben Cross. All very good movies, and all very different.

I'm actually looking forward to a new semester starting January 5th; I get 2 new courses, and I'll be staying on-campus in dorms. I think it'll be fun, and very different. It's always nice starting a new semester, because I get to start all over again; I have to try a lot harder this semester. Anyway, Happy New Year to all.

Esther...

Just so you know, I'm using this user for deviantart for real now. I think I'm going to start posting poetry and so forth. Anyway, I don't know whether you care or not. Oh, and just so you know, I've periodically checked your deviantart page since we've stopped talking, and read your poetry...I hope this is ok... If it isn't, I will stop checking it. Talk to you later.
